They will come in Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Epic forms through a loot box-style system. Some of the features of the game include the upgradable and customizable armour appearance, vanity items, weapons, and other interesting add-ons. This means that free to play players will have the option to use one Champion, Ranger, and will have all maps, modes, and weapons at their disposal as all other purchasing customers.
The game creators proudly announced however, that their plan was to make players who play the game for free equally as important as purchasing customers. Players will also be given the option to buy the so called Champions Pack (which is the whole game) and have access to all of the game's features. When the announcement was made it was said that the new Quake title will be free for everyone, but that there will also be an option to purchase additional characters, called Champions. Quake Champions is the latest release of the Quake series of multiplayer shooters and the first one after a break of 12 years (Quake 4 was released in 2005). It should be noted though that Quake Champions is still not released for the general public, but it was announced on the E3 2016 that it should be out by the end of this year. This explains the excitement behind their newest release.
